How can I keep my bread in the bread machine from looking lumpy or sunken in?

We like to make bread in a bread machine but the bread top comes out lumpy or sunken in looking… anyway to get this perfectly round?
We used bread flour, maybe we should have used powdered milk (like it called for) instead of milk, but we didn’t have any.

My bread machine instructions says that a sunken top happens when you use too much liquid. Try decreasing the liquid by a little.

Are you using Bread Flour and not All-Purpose Flour? Bread Flour has a higher gluten content which tends to make better bread in Bread Machines. Also start out using the minimum amount of water that your recipe calls for. You can add more water as the bread is mixing if the dough appears to be too dry.
