Should I add a breadmaker to my wedding registry?

Is it practical for a household of two to have a breadmaker?

Best reply by angelbaby:

sure, why not? it’s just another kitchen appliance, perfectly acceptable!

I used to have one and loved it. I would make fresh bread and serve it right out of the maker still warm for dinner.

why waste your time baking bread? get champagne glasses or silk sheets instead! you have plenty of time to be boring when your old!!!

It’s practical but they are all over at yardsales brand new for like 10 bucks. Make sure there isn’t something else you need more.

I don’t even use the one that I have….are you sure you want one?

I would say, don’t get one. My mom got me one and I used it once. The novelty of it will wear off rather quickly.

I used mine exactly twice. Just took too long, still alot of work and it wasn’t that great. I’m happier with buying fresh bread @ the bakery.

It used to be common in every household, but breadmakers have kind of disappeared over the years. If you really think you would take the time to make home-made bread, then yeah. It’s your wedding!

    Congratulations as well. :)

If you really think you will use it, go for it…..I thought I would use mine that I bought 5 years ago—I baked bread twice and now it’s just sitting there collecting dust.

ARE YOU, DO YOU, PLAN TO MAKE BREAD? IF YOU DON’T NEED IT OR AREN’T GOING TO USE IT WHY BOTHER. GET STUFF THAT YOU NEED, NOT STUFF YOU WILL NEVER USE.

It cuts down on the cost of Buying bread.

If you bought one loaf of bread every week at the price of $3, that’s $144 a year of buying bread.

In 2 years it would be $288.

Thats alot of Money! It might be worth it to have a Bread machine on your registry.

No need, Bread available in the market is fresh and not so expensive. Use the money for something more essential, or just save it to have more fun during honeymoon.

Breads are carbs. If you got the metabolism of a bird add it, but if your like most people eating bread especially warm fresh bread will quickly add up on you and loved ones. How about a meat slicer, good cutlery or something you will use often. If you don’t live in a mansion space can become a premium.

Most people who I’ve talked to say that it’s nice to have warm bread, but it doesn’t taste as good as real homemade bread. Why don’t you just take some rolls or such from your local store and put them in the microwave for 1 minute, and they’ll taste like homemade.

I just saw a nice breadmaker at a garage sale for $4. I passed it up.

    Yes
And for everyone who said they have theirs just sitting around. Shame on you. Drag it out. Mine has a dough setting and I just use it to make the bread dough. Then pinch off rolls and let them rise and have fantastic rolls. Or whatever kind of bread you want. I just didn’t care for the hard crust when baked in the breadmaker. So I bake my bread in my oven.

the question is would you make enough bread to have people that obviously care about you spend their hard earned money on something that you might not use. it might make your kitchen look nice but be mindful, just because it might be practical doesn’t mean its necessary

Yes, even if it is only for the good smell of the fresh baked bread.

Add anything and everything. That’s what it’s for. People aren’t offended. Your just letting them know what you feel like you need so they don’t have to guess. There are close friends and family who would just love to buy you a big item that says they love and care about you.
